Fresh Range

The Fresh Range online shop brings the freshest local produce from award winning local producers to the people of Bath and Bristol. With a choice of low cost delivery options, it's never been easier to eat fresher locally sourced foods.

Cutting out the middle men, reducing food miles and relying on less physical storage, they pay their producers a higher percentage of the retail price. Producers get a fairer deal and consumers get a better price.

1st Option

1st Option is a London based shoot locations agency with an excellent understanding of what makes a good location from the photographer's, filmmaker's and client's perspective. They understand the importance of light and space and focus on only showcasing the best properties available.

They're the only agency that showcases their location images full-screen, their advanced search facility lets you drill down to the exact shoot criteria you're looking for and view images of just the selected features. The site also provides lightbox functionality that allows users to share whole locations or single images with their colleagues.

Fostering Solutions

Fostering Solutions is one of the country's leading independent fostering agencies. They have one clear focus - to give children and young people in care the very best outcomes in life.

My role

  • Creation and use of multiple svg defs files to allow for extensive use of 'handdrawn' icons

Bishopsland Eductional Trust

Bishopsland is an internationally recognised, post graduate residential course, a bridge between university and professional life as a silversmith or jeweller.

They required a site that highlighted the quality and excellance of its fellows while also providing information on the structure of the year long programme.

My role

The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) is an independent think tank engaged in cutting edge defence and security research. RUSI embodies nearly two centuries of forward thinking, free discussion and careful reflection on defence and security matters.

Much of their information is delivered through publishing articles and papers. These are available through paid membership with content viewable depending on membership tier.

Their web presence is extremely important, they required a site that matches their international prestige.

Apps for Good

Apps for Good provides an education programme where young people learn to create apps that change their world.

An open-source technology education movement that partners with educators in schools and learning centres to deliver their course to young people 10-18 years of age. They provide the course content, training and connections to expert volunteers, and then let teachers do what they are best at – inspire and guide young people.

My role

  • Design a series of infographics to support Apps for Good's annual report. Infographics provided in 2014, 15 and 16.

The Insolvency Service

The Insolvency Service is an executive agency of the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS). It provides an insolvency law and regulatory framework, as well as providing the means of supporting it.

As part of a wider project taking place across the organisation, The Insolvency Service required an in-depth understanding of their intranet. This needed to be provided with clear specification of high level requirements and solutions to steer the broader project onto the next stage.

My role

  • Facilitation of four workshops with Insolvency Service employees
  • High level requirements specification
  • User stories/journeys
  • Information architecture restructuring and sitemap
  • Presentation of results and next steps to senior management

Yacht Adina

Adina is a Hylas 46 - a 14 metre blue water cruiser. Since 2013 she's been home to Tom and Susie, two explorers sailing around the world.

Their original blog was picked up and featured in many sailing and related publications. As a results they wanted a new site design that better reflected their style. The site needed to be clear, clean and modern. It would also better highlight their route and sailing notes.

My role

SNAP DONATE transforms your phone into a 'magic lens' able to recognise charity logos. This makes it easy to give quick, one-off gifts to charity. It was created by the SnapDonate Foundation, a new not-for-profit entity that aims to keep impulse giving alive in an increasingly cashless society.

Nuffield Foundation

The Nuffield Foundation runs research placements for students in the first year of a post-16 science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) course.

Nuffield required their offline application process to be moved online allowing students, teachers, placement providers and Nuffield coordinators to interact in a more streamlined way. There were particular challenges surrounding access to only certain parts of an application, at particular times in the process, depending on the user involved.

My role

  • Scoping workshopes and information architecture development, including user journeys and prototyping
